After an incredible football season where he named 1st team All-League running back, Joey moved right into wrestling just recently completing a sweep in all three of his matches at the Earl Gillis Wrestling Tournament.

McKenzie has had an outstanding start to the girls basketball team, including 21 points and grabbing 25 rebounds in a win against David Douglas.

§ October minutes approved as amended. Moved by Doug Corder & Seconded by Lisa Hazenberg.

§ Financial

*Available: $14,900.54 (also have $548.81 in benevolence

account.

*Some outstanding debts still coming in.

*Discussion was held to possibly take out the scholarship $4000

money & $2500 for the Sports Banquet now since we have it.

decision tabled since Kathy (treasurer) was not at this

meeting.

*Field Turf Account $42,000

*Financial report was approved (moved by Stacie Wolf &

Seconded by Doug Corder)

· Requests

*Discussion about guidelines for requests regarding summer

programs. (Ask more questions of requests!)

*Tim has some requests from the benevolence fund.

· Student Athlete of the Month

*Water Polo teams (Girls & Boys) are Athletes of the Month

for winning the State Championship for the 5th straight year.

· Old Business

*Check website coordinator and make sure items are being

put on website.

*Still looking for a website coordinator.

· New Business

*Winter Spirit Event-Valerie spoke about recruiting an events

Coordinator. (Jeff Tant & Right Way Meat) could be some-

-Check with Marketing Class on advertising

*Winter Sports Meeting-All sports will have individual mtgs.

-Liaisons should be responsible for getting emails out to the

parents of their sport.

-February 6th

-Biggest concern is that we start selling tickets NOW!

($25 per ticket w/name & number so we can keep track)

-Need advertising (Someone to start organizing for auction)

-Each team is to donate one basket

-Need insurance

-Already signed contract for CPRD

-Stacie will make flyer to distribute

-Valerie will send out emails of what help she needs.

-Tim will talk to Cathy Harris about tickets.

· Committees

*Concessions-We will pool volunteers to help w/concessions

-Always need more openers & closers!

*Fundraising-Sineage is out! Some signs need to be put up

and others taken down.

*Script-Since April 2008 sold $137,000 so earned $6,500

toward student accounts. (only about 10 active families.)

-Could use money that we earn from this for Field of

Dreams.

-Can order online @ GLScript.com and then drop off

a check to Valerie. Valerie then picks up the order.

*Field of Dreams-No new information!

*Tiger Gear-Kathy has ordered cinch bags & they are coming.

-She also ordered car flags and tigers.

-She can order headbands quickly for our Booster

Event.

Volunteers Needed for 2010 Crab Feed and Auction!

Mmmm! Mmmm! Good!
The Booster Club is hosting the
2nd Annual Crab Feed and Auction
on Saturday, February 6th at the Chehalem Armory.
This fun event will support both Newberg Athletics and the Field of Dreams Project
but
we need volunteers to make it happen!
We need 1 - 2 people to help with each of the following tasks. Please join us in building this NHS tradition!!

Advertising –

Create Flyers and post them in local businesses - Stacie Wolfe

Design and order small reusable plastic signs to be posted at intersections - Open

Post notices on Alumni and NHS families’ Facebooks - Open

Post notices on website - Valerie Hamilton

Design and place ads in Graphic - Open

Selling Tickets -

Set up ticket sales at local Businesses - Open

Organize ticket sales at December and January NHS home sporting events - Lisa Hazenberg

Auction Baskets Coordinator - One needed for each NHS sport

Large Auction Packages Committee

Request items from businesses and NHS families to put together 5-6 large packages for auction - Open

Silent Auction Coordinator

Create auction pamphlets and bids sheets - Open
